ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENGLISH GOLD ONYX PEARL & DIAMOND MOURNING BROOCH c1872
A top quality antique English onyx mourning brooch, with applied solid gold fittings and decoration set with glistening rose cut diamonds, lustrous pearls and finished with black enamelling. With a glass locket to the reverse holding an original hair memento, the bezel inscribed 'In Memory of George Webster 26th March 1872 æt. 63'.

CONDITION: Generally very good. Slightest signs of wear to enamel commensurate with age and use. May benefit from a gentle clean. Small drill/nail to one side, possibly original to manufacture?
DATE/MARKS: Around 1872. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: 47 x 35 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 36.3 grams.
