Victorian, C1880
This lovely large cameo portrays Hebe, the Goddess of Youth and the cupbearer to the Gods, as she feeds the eagle of Zeus. This subject was immensely popular during the Victorian era, likely inspired by a painting by Sir William Beechey, now housed in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England.
