An antique English solid 22 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning ring; set with a faceted, foiled dark coloured amethyst, and fancy band, originally will have had enamel decoration and wording to the band. Amethyst was typically used in the latter stages of the mourning period

CONDITION: Faint foil loss & discolouration, all of the enamel to band worn/lost wording illegible. Hole worn to back of head.
