ANTIQUE GEORGIAN PERIOD SILVER & GOLD ENAMEL ROSE CUT DIAMOND EARRINGS c1800
A pair of antique solid silver fronted & gold backed drop earrings; finely made, and set with foiled glistening rose cut diamonds with vitreous blue enamel highlights.
A terrific pair of scarce Georgian period earrings...immensely collectable & so wearable!
CONDITION: Generally very good. Wires possibly old replacements. Some signs of enamel wear and foil deterioration commensurate with age and use. A few nicks/cracks to stones, one or two tiny diamonds missing - see pictures. Some gilding loss to backs. One lower drop suspension ring repaired in antiquity.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1780/1800. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: Total drops 45 x 14 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 12.9 grams together.
