ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PERIOD 9K GOLD MICROMOSAIC DROP EARRINGS c1870
A pair of antique solid 9 carat gold earrings, with pearl topped onyx panel tops, later gold butterfly fittings, and set with polished black glass drops, each set with a finely hand crafted micromosaic depicting Roman ruins/landmarks.
Attractive, collectable & wearable too!
CONDITION: Generally very good. Backs/tops old replacements. Some slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. A few nicks and faint hairlines to surrounds, small amount of tesserae loss - please see pictures.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1870/80. Stamped '9ct'.
DIMENSIONS: Total drops 46 x 14 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 12.2 grams together.
