ANTIQUE GEORGIAN 9K GOLD BLUE ENAMEL & DIAMOND BAGUE DE FIRMAMENT RING c1800
An antique solid 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts or higher) 'bague de firmament' ring; finely made, with blue enamelling topped with an array of sparkling white diamonds in cut down silver settings, around two larger foiled 'heart' shaped diamonds.
Wow - wonderful quality, extremely scarce & immensely collectible...so wearable too!
CONDITION: Very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. A few minor surface scratches to enamel, barely noticeable - see pictures. Originally a brooch or pendant? - converted with a later shank in antiquity.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1790/1800. Shank marked 18ct.
DIMENSIONS: Head 27 x 17 mm, largest diamonds approx. 5.0 x 4.3 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
RING SIZE: M or 6 ½ US (not easily resized).
WEIGHT: Approx. 5.5 grams.
