HUGE ANTIQUE GEORGIAN GOLD MOURNING GLOVE RING c1820 NOT LOST BUT GONE BEFORE
An antique English 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning ring; finely made, with entwined woven shoulders flanking a head set with faceted French jet & a band of white vitreous enamel around a glass locket holding an old hair memento, overlain with gold/gilt initials 'WW' or 'MM', and engraved: 'Not Lost but gone before' to the back of the head.
An unusually large, high quality mourning ring in lovely condition - probably intended for a gloved hand. So collectible & ideal for wear on a chain!
CONDITION: Generally very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Old upsizing visible to back of band, hence the very large size.
