SUPERB QUALITY PAIR ANTIQUE 15K GOLD MICROMOSAIC WOVEN HAIR BRACELETS c1840
A stunning quality pair of antique mourning bracelets; with finely woven hair bands, deeply hand chased solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) fittings and integrated snap fasteners, and each set with finely hand crafted micro mosaics, depicting the 'Temple of Minerva Medica', Rome, and another Roman landmark, possibly the Temple of the Sibyl at Tivoli, in polished red glass surrounds.

CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. A few hairlines to mosaic glass surrounds, perfectly secure. Negligible tesserae loss - see pictures. Slightest fraying to hair work. Two connector rings old replacements.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1840. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: Mosaics 26 x 22 mm, bracelets just over 6 inches long, 29 mm wide (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 81.1 grams together.
