An antique English 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning ring, with a navette shaped glass locket holding a sepia miniature & hair work urn, decorated with applied tiny gold and pearl highlights and reading 'Alas He's Gone' above.
Such a lovely example...so collectible & wearable too!
CONDITION: Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Small crack to top of glass, but doesn't break the surface. Shank an old addition. Adhesive visible to hair within the urn, probably original to manufacture.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1780/1800. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: 25 x 12 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
RING SIZE: N 1/2 or 7.25 US (can be resized within reason).
