Quality Silver Pebble Seal Brooch

A fabulous quality antique Scottish, solid sterling silver pebble brooch, set with individually carved & polished figured agate panels surrounding an intaglio of an astronomer in profile, with a comet to his back.

Most unusual, very collectable & so wearable!

CONDITION: All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Some shallow denting to bezel - see pictures.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1870/80. Intaglio older. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS: 49 mm diameter (1 inch = 25.4 mm).

WEIGHT: Approx. 32.3 grams.
