A wonderfully rare antique English 9 carat gold fob, with simple and classical appearance set with a carnelian seal base engraved with a crest. Unusually the central boss hinges open and splits to reveal two hidden seals, one with a bloodstone seal base engraved with a stork above the initials 'PH', and a chalcedony seal engraved with the name 'Georgia'
So unusual, very collectible & perfect for wear on a chain!
CONDITION: All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear & shallow denting commensurate with age and use. Possibly originally had a spring within.Locket closure secure.
DATE/MARKS: Early 19th Century. Not marked.
