ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 9K GOLD NOT LOST BUT GONE BEFORE HAIR MOURNING RING c1839
An antique English solid 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning ring, inset with a band of woven hair to the shank, a higher carat cartouche decorated with pale blue enamel reading 'Not Lost But Gone Before', and inscribed to the inner shank "Lucy Easton Hale Ob. 4 dec 1839 æt. 3 yrs".
Very collectible & wearable too!
CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Expected fraying/slight loss to hair - see pictures.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1839. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: Band 5.5 mm wide (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
RING SIZE: Just under M or 6 ½ US (cannot be resized).
WEIGHT: Approx. 3.2 grams.
